Summer Reading Support
-
Students will receive guidance about how to manage their time reading their school-assigned summer reading book(s) and support completing assignments or notes required by their school. With a focus on time management and assignment organization, overall support in summer reading sessions is generalized to meet the needs of any book and assignment students need to complete.
-
Throughout these sessions, students will receive:
An organization and time management planner for successfully completing their reading and work prior to their school’s deadline.
Supported discussions about relevant textual details to help them complete their school assignment.
Feedback sheet with ways to develop their work as they continue their project on their own in between group sessions.
Peer support and encouragement about reading and summer work.
-
Students may create groups of peers from their own school who are reading the same or different books, or they can join a group of students from other schools who may be reading the same or different books as well. We can organize these arrangements for students and families.
A minimum of three students is required for groups to run. Groups are capped at five students, unless mutually agreed upon by all students creating the group.
-
We will work with your student’s schedule, as well as the schedules of the other students in the group, to find the best time for your cohort to meet.
-
Price begins at the base-level tutoring rates, and will be determined by length of commitment and complexity of book study.
