• Where does tutoring occur?

For maximum flexibility, we primarily work with students online via Zoom. We provide the Zoom link and information in advance of each session so that your student is prepared.

We offer in-person sessions in Eastern Pennsylvania, with tutors located in Northeastern Pennsylvania as well as Southeastern Pennsylvania. We will accommodate in-person requests if possible. Please contact us if you are interested.

  • What does the cost of tutoring include?

Our hourly rates include more than the face time your student receives with one of our veteran educators.

    Additionally, our services entail:

    • Pre-testing and gathering of baseline data

    • Work sample grading and analysis

    • Individualized lesson plans to address specific goal areas

    • Progress monitoring and modified programming as necessary

    • Clear communication to student and guardian(s) regarding feedback and recommendations

  • How long will my child need tutoring?

The duration of a tutoring commitment will vary based on individual need and student goals. For some students, a few sessions to work on an assignment meets their needs, while for others, a longer commitment makes sense to achieve their educational goals.

Tutoring is a collaborative process that relies on consistent communication between tutor, parents/guardians, and students. Decisions about how long to continue with tutoring will be made together based on data and feedback.

  • I would like my student to participate in a small group, but we do not have a group created. Can you help?

We are happy to match students with others we are tutoring in order to form small groups. It is important to match students of similar abilities and with similar educational goals, so this process can sometimes take time. We will work as quickly as possible to find a fit if you are interested in small groups for your student.

  • My student does not usually need academic help, but is struggling with an assignment. What do you suggest?

In addition to classic tutoring services, we also offer assignment-based support that can be completed without live sessions. For students who are looking for an extra set of eyes on an essay or assignment, we can provide feedback and offer suggestions for revising and editing work. We work within your deadlines, and we can provide rounds of feedback until you feel successful with your work.

  • Do you offer any services for students who already excel in school and enjoy their learning?

Yes! A major portion of our work is focused on enriching reading and writing for all students. Our enrichment opportunities include book clubs, writing experiences, and workshops. Community Enrichment runs throughout the year, and information can be found on our website and social media.
